Early Priorities
We see strategic opportunities in new areas for priority:
- working out ways to engage more directly with the communities we serve
- placing greater emphasis on sustainability in engineering practice
- taking special initiatives to assist the increasing number of migrant engineers who wish to join the profession
Continuing Priorities
Among our current strategies, we intend to maintain priority on:
- taking leadership positions on, and engaging in policy debates with governments on matters affecting the profession and the community
- celebrating excellence in engineering and its contribution to our quality of life
- pursuing a nationally consistent regulatory regime
- promoting engineering as a profession and as an attractive career
- encouraging engineering professionals to undertake continuing professional development
- promoting the value of Chartered Status
- facilitating national and international mobility of engineering practitioners
- promoting solutions to ensuring the education standards necessary for successful engineering studies
